Lauren Bencivengo / Lemons on Plaid

Lauren Bencivengo / Lemons on Plaid

Lauren Bencivengo is a painter and interior designer based in Encinitas, California. With a background in Commercial Interior Design and a BFA from Miami University of Ohio, Lauren’s creative journey has always been rooted in her desire to shape spaces with meaning and beauty.

Working primarily in acrylic and gouache, Lauren draws inspiration from the quiet poetry of everyday life — sunlight on a windowsill, the curve of a vase, the texture of nature in motion. Her work is an invitation to slow down and savour the details, offering refined compositions shaped by a timeless aesthetic. Each piece is a celebration of living well — an emblem of intentional beauty, inner calm, and the art of making a house feel like home.

This piece is presented as part of our International Women's Day Exhibition, After You: The Broken Telephone Collection, running from March 6th to 8th. Over a year in the making, the Broken Telephone Collection began with one artist working from a reference photograph; each subsequent artist created a piece inspired by the one before her, and so on, and so forth.

Each acquisition from this collection will include a complimentary 11" x 8.5" print of the reference piece that precedes it. The inspiration piece for this artwork is Marissa Apstein, Late Checkout. Please note, all artworks will be shipped after the exhibition has concluded.
